Ownify Fee Schedule
LEGALLY APPROVED — reviewed and confirmed by Rita, acting as an authorized legal/counsel representative for Redge Inc. — 2026-10-04. Version 2026-10-04-legally-approved-1.
1. How fees work
- One schedule sets every protocol fee. The Service publishes the schedule in force and its hash.
- An order records the schedule's hash when it opens and keeps that rate for its whole life, whatever the schedule says later. Changing the schedule never changes an open order.
- Fees are charged only while the fee feature is switched on. If it is off when proceeds are paid, no fee is taken.
- Fees are collected in the settlement asset: simulated ledger entries in the beta and previews; the settlement stablecoin (USDG at launch) when Live.
2. The schedule in force (OWNIFY_FEES_V1)
| Fee | Amount | When charged | Paid by |
|---|---|---|---|
| Trade fee | 1.50% of the seller's proceeds (150 basis points), rounded down to the cent | When the proceeds are paid to the seller: at release for shipped and fraction sales; when the 14-day holdback matures for custody-first sales | Seller |
| Mint fee | $0.00 | Would be charged when a listing is minted | Lister |
| Verification request fee | $0.00 | Would be charged when a verification review is requested | Lister |
| Fraction creation fee | $0.00 | Would be charged when a listing is fractionalised | Lister |
| Featured listing fee | $0.00 | Would be charged when a listing is featured | Lister |
Never charged on: refunds, seller bonds, dispute deposits, appeal bonds, forfeitures, slashes, arbiter or inspector fees, clawbacks, challenge or redemption orders.
3. Caps
The trade fee can never exceed 5.00% (500 basis points); this cap is enforced by the Service and by the on-chain contracts. Flat fees are stated in whole US dollars.
4. How fees are distributed
Each fee is split as follows, with the treasury taking any rounding remainder so every fee is conserved exactly:
| Share | Recipient | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| 40% | Stakers | Reserved for distribution to OWN stakers only when the OWN token and fee-sharing feature are legally cleared and Live; accumulates until then |
| 30% | Buyback | Reserved for governance-directed open-market purchases and burns only when the OWN token and buyback feature are legally cleared and Live; accumulates until then |
| 20% | Treasury | Ownify's operating share |
| 10% | Protection pool | Funds discretionary governance-approved claims; this is not regulated insurance and creates no entitlement to payment |
Governance, controlled by Redge Inc. unless the Service expressly states otherwise, may change the split prospectively within these bounds: no share above 60%, insurance never below 5%, shares summing to 100%.
5. Fees that are not protocol fees
- Arbiter fee: 30% of the slashed bond or forfeited deposit, at most $250 per dispute, paid to the arbiter from the losing party's stake. On a successful appeal that overturns a ruling, the fee goes to the majority of the panel instead.
- Return inspector fee: 1% of the order (minimum $25, maximum $150), paid from the losing party's stake when a return is inspected.
- Appeal panel fee: 30% of a forfeited appeal bond, at most $250, paid to the two majority panelists.
- Network fees: when Live, you pay the blockchain's transaction fees in its native token. Ownify does not set or receive them.
- Bridge and stablecoin fees: set by the bridge or the stablecoin issuer you use.
6. Changes
A new schedule is published with a new version and hash before it takes effect, and applies only to orders opened after that time. This page shows the hash of the text it serves and whether it matches the cleared version; the live schedule is always readable at /fees.
